You know what sucks about running into some bad luck when it comes to your driving record?
Your insurance prices increase…
It might have been because of a few minor tickets. It might have been because of a serious conviction, like careless driving. It might have been because of a couple of accidents.
Whatever the case, when your insurance company finds out about these blemishes on your record, they’ll often cancel your renewal (For the most part, depending on the insurance company).
High risk
Why would they cancel your renewal? Because they don’t want to insure people with bad driving records. They consider them too high of a risk.
So, then, what do people with bad driving records do? I mean, if you have a clean record, you can call around for quote comparisons. I estimate that there are about 30 different insurance companies that offer auto insurance in Ontario competing for your business, so you can truly find a low rate.
But when you have a bad driving records, you can’t really call around because most insurance companies will decline to quote you.
High risk insurance broker
So what do you do then? Well, you call a high risk insurance broker, like myself. The bad news is that your rates will be higher than you’re used to. The good news is that you can still shop around… Somewhat.
There are five insurance companies that offer high risk insurance in Ontario – Perth, Jevco, Echelon, Coachman, and Pafco. That means that a few companies still compete to get your business, albeit not as much as they would if you had a clean driving record.
My brokerage has contracts with all of the high risk companies. That means that, if you are indeed classified as high risk, I can get you the best rate – Guaranteed. So call me at 1-888-467-5499.
