Drinking and driving convictions affect your insurance rates, but it might not be as bad as you’d expect. That would especially be true if the conviction is the only blemish on your record.
There are five insurance companies that insure drivers that have had a drinking and driving (impaired) conviction in Ontario. They are:
1. Coachman
2. Perth
3. Jevco
4. Pafco
5. Echelon
I deal with all five of the companies. When you call me for a quote, I will get the rates for all five of them and then quote you the lowest one available. From there, it will be easy to set up a new policy if you wish to do so and i will walk you through the simple steps.

When you call, there are a few details that you should know ahead of time. That includes the date that you were convicted in court and the start and end date of your license suspension. I would also need to know if you have had any other convictions (tickets) in the last three years, as well as accidents or claims in the last six years.
