Facility is basically the insurance of last resort in Ontario. It’s where you get insured when there are no other insurance companies that are willing to insure you. That might be the case for many number of reasons… things like too many tickets, or too many accidents, or cancellations, and so on.

Actually, any agent or broker in Ontario can quote you with Facility. The system is set up that way so that, no matter who you call, you don’t get turned down for insurance. But does it work that way in practice? Not always. I know this because a lot of people tell me that their agent or broker turned them down and told them to go get a quote with Facility.
