How Does A Refuse Breathalyzer Conviction Affect Your Insurance?

Did you know that, if you’re with a regular insurance company, and you get convicted of the charge of Refuse Breathalyzer, your renewal will get cancelled?

It will.

Same severity as impaired driving

Basically, Refuse Breathalyzer is a criminal conviction and has the same severity as do convictions for Impaired Driving over Driving With More Than 80 MGS Of Alcohol In Blood. Insurance companies don’t like this.

If your renewal gets cancelled due to this conviction, you will then have to get insured with a “high risk” insurance company.

How will that affect your insurance rates?

Every situation is different in terms of the actual impact on your rates. But what will happen, all other tings being equal, is your rating will be decreased and then your rates will be surcharged by 50%.

But you probably want an exact number, right? Well, you won’t be able to calculate it on your own, as a lot of other factors go into insurance rates. Just give me a call and I can do a quote for you over the phone, quickly and easily; it just takes about 5 minutes.
